CIE Tours & AAIDN Summer Internship Program 2024

CIE Tours, the leading tour operator for vacations to Ireland and Britain, has partnered with the African American Irish Diaspora Network (AAIDN) to foster relationships between African Americans, Ireland, and the Irish Diaspora through various programming, marketing, and product development. 

As an AAIDN Diaspora Leadership Partner, CIE Tours has created a Summer Internship Program for historically black colleges and universities (HBCU) students and graduates to introduce talented young professionals to the travel and tourism industry, with a focus on Ireland and leisure travel.  This program offers opportunities in a variety of areas including, Sales, Marketing, Finance and Information Technology.  Interns will obtain first-hand knowledge for their area of study by on-the-job training and hands-on experience. 

All internships will include the opportunity to travel on a CIE Tour to Ireland to experience the country’s culture and heritage.

Primary Responsibilities By Area:

  • Contact Center/Group Sales – Responsibilities including assisting customers in booking CIE Tours vacation packages via inbound calls, chat and emails and other sales related duties as assigned.

  • Finance – The specific tasks and responsibilities may vary based on the intern's skills, interests, and the organization's needs, but can include projects within accounting, financial analysis and data analytics.

  • Marketing – The specific tasks and responsibilities may vary based on the intern's skills, interests, and the organization's needs, but can include competitive analysis, social media management, content creation and data analytics.

  • Information Technology – Responsibilities include providing technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting with system upgrades, and participating in projects related to network administration and software development. Interns would be involved in system and process documentation.

Additional Internship Details and Benefits:

  • Length:  June to August (start and end dates are flexible within these months)

  • Compensation: $18.00 per hour

  • Housing:  Subsidized housing will be available within walking distance to Morristown, NJ office.   

  • College Credit:  Based on the individual intern’s college/university policy.

  • Familiarization Trip:  Interns will be scheduled for a tour of Ireland including flights during the internship program

  • Schedule:  Monday through Friday – 37.5 hours per week

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be actively enrolled in school during the internship

  • Must be able to provide own transportation to and from Morristown, NJ at the beginning and end of the internship

  • Experience with MS Office Software (i.e., Word, Excel) required for most positions
